Blachford prides itself in our technical understanding of anti-tacks and their applications. Anti-tacks play a vital role in the manufacture of rubber compounds and products. Often referred to as "slab dips", anti-tacks are considered indirect components of the rubber compounding process, but are essential to a trouble-free operation. They can make a significant impact on the manufacturing process because they serve as partitioning agents to prevent uncured rubber compounds from adhering to themselves.
Blachford’s Chemlube® line of process aids is designed to improve mixing and subsequent processing of a wide range of rubber compounds without compromising the curing process or the physical properties of the cured rubber. Process aids are often used to serve multiple functions including:
- Reducing energy consumption
- Improving surface finish
- Improving extrusion and calendaring processes
- Extending scorch time
- Improving incorporation of compound ingredients
- Facilitating de-molding with improved release
